University of Melbourne International Scholarships in Australia, 2017

The university of Melbourne aims to assist international students who require financial assistance with scholarships.

Established in 1853, the University of Melbourne are a public-spirited institution that makes distinctive contributions to society in research, learning, and teaching and engagement. It is consistently ranked among the leading universities in the world, with international rankings of world universities placing it as number 1 in Australia and number 33 in the world (Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2015-2016).

Applicants must have completed tertiary studies that are at least equivalent to a 4-year honours degree at an Australian university with a minimum result of first class honours. The University of Melbourne TOEFL Institution Code is 0974. Please use this code so that your results can be reported to us. Some faculties may accept graduate students with a slightly lower IELTS, TOEFL, Pearson Test of English or CAE score.

A.G. Whitlam International Undergraduate Merit Scholarship: 50% fee remission for the duration of the course.

Bachelor of Commerce Global Scholarship: A 20% fee remission scholarship for the duration of the course.

Chancellor’s Scholars Program:

Commerce at International House Scholarship: The scholarship is to provide financial assistance for residency at International House for the first year of the Bachelor of Commerce, valued at $20,000.

Commerce International Undergraduate Merit Scholarships: 50% fee remission for the duration of the course.

Commerce Opportunity Bursary:

Douglas Family Scholarship: Each scholarship will be awarded for up to three years at a time or the normal duration of an undergraduate commerce degree.

First In the Family Scholarships:

International Undergraduate Partner Scholarships: 50% fee remission for the duration of the course.

The Dawn Wade Scholarship: Valued at a maximum of $22 000 per annum for the normal duration of the Bachelor of Commerce (three years) and is payable directly to International House.

The Priestley Family Access Scholarship: Valued at a maximum of $25,000 per annum for the full-time (three years) duration of the Bachelor of Commerce and is payable directly at Ormond College.

Wade Family Commerce Scholarships at Ormond College: The scholarship is to provide residency at Ormond College for the first year of the Bachelor of Commerce, valued at $13,000.

Graduate

A.G. Whitlam Graduate Merit Scholarship: 50% fee remission for the duration of the course.

International Graduate Merit Scholarships: Ranging between 25% – 50% fee remission for the duration of the course.

International Postgraduate Coursework Awards: The International Postgraduate Coursework Awards offers 25% fee remission for the duration of the course.

Local Graduate Merit Scholarships: Ranging between 25% – 50% fee remission for the duration of the course.

Research

Undergraduate

A.G. Whitlam International Undergraduate Merit Scholarship: A.G. Whitlam International Undergraduate Merit Scholarships are available to international students commencing the Bachelor of Commerce from one of the following countries: Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.

Bachelor of Commerce Global Scholarship: The Faculty of Business and Economics has established a number of scholarships for international students enrolling in the Bachelor of Commerce.

Bertalli Family Foundation Scholarships: Available through the generosity of the Bertalli Family Foundation, the Scholarships are available to assist high achieving students who completed school in a rural or isolated area in transitioning to living in Melbourne and tertiary study.

Chancellor’s Scholars Program: The Chancellor’s Scholars Program is available to high-achieving students enrolled in the following undergraduate degrees: Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Biomedicine, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Design, Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Science.

Commerce at International House Scholarship: Available through the generosity of anonymous donors, the Commerce at International House is available to students commencing the Bachelor of Commerce, who currently reside in rural or regional Victoria and who intend to live at International House in their first year.

Commerce International Undergraduate Merit Scholarships: The Commerce Undergraduate International Merit Scholarships are available to international students commencing the Bachelor of Commerce.

Commerce Opportunity Bursary: Available through the generosity of an alumni donor, the Bursaries are available to Victorian residents who apply for entry into the Bachelor of Commerce to assist high achieving students who are in financial need, or are otherwise disadvantaged. It encompasses a program to foster the academic and personal development of the recipients, through the ongoing support of the Commerce Opportunity Network.

Douglas Family Scholarship: Available through the generosity of the Douglas Family, the Scholarship is available to assist high achieving students who are in financial need in transitioning to tertiary study.

First In the Family Scholarships: The First in the Family Scholarships are awarded to Bachelor of Commerce students who will be the first in their family to attend university and who have experienced disadvantage.

International Undergraduate Partner Scholarships: The Undergraduate Scholarships are available through the generosity of the late Arthur Gordon Whitlam, and are funded by the A.G Whitlam Trust.

The Dawn Wade Scholarship: Available through the generosity of the Dawn Wade Foundation, the Scholarships are available to assist high achieving students who completed school in a rural or isolated area in transitioning to living in Melbourne and tertiary study by providing residency costs at one of the University’s prestigious colleges.

The Priestley Family Access Scholarship: The Priestley Family Access Scholarship has been established to assist a student entering the Bachelor of Commerce under Special Entry Access scheme (SEAS) who have applied for residency at Ormond College.

Wade Family Commerce Scholarships at Ormond College: The Wade Family Scholarships at Ormond College support two students entering the Faculty of Business and Economics to study the Bachelor of Commerce.

Graduate

A.G. Whitlam Graduate Merit Scholarship: The A.G Whitlam Graduate Scholarships are available to all students, local and international, who apply to a Masters coursework degree.

International Graduate Merit Scholarships: International Graduate Merit Scholarships are available to all international students who apply to a coursework program within The Faculty of Business & Economics.

International Postgraduate Coursework Awards: Available each year to commencing International Masters coursework applicants.

Local Graduate Merit Scholarships: Local Graduate Merit Scholarships are available to all local students who apply to a coursework program within The Faculty of Business & Economics.

Research

Queen’s College Ph.D. Scholarship: Applicants must have enrolled in a Ph.D. in the Graduate School of Business and Economics commencing in 2012.

University of Melbourne Research Scholarship: The Melbourne Research Scholarship (MRS) was established by the University of Melbourne and is awarded to high achieving domestic and international research students.
